The 2019 triathlon season is in full swing in the US, and PRorER athletes were busy this past weekend.
Rhonda Stephens incorportated what she learned at our Jacksonville Camp last week and managed to claim 2nd in the Female 50-54 age group at the Escape from Ft. DeSoto Tri in Florida. Rhonda worked on her bike position at camp, and it may have helped her post the second fastest bike split in her age group.
Julia Norcia claimed won the 1st Place Master's Open Female spot by chopping off two minutes from her previous swim PR at Tri the Midlands in Columbia, SC. This was a great performance for Julia, who less than two years ago was afraid to put her face in the water when swimming. Up next, Lake Murray Tri!
John Bye made the trip down to Haines City, FL from New Jersey to take on Ironman 70.3 Florida. After leading the swim and bike for the 50-54 age group, the heat took it's toll on the run and John managed to hang on for 7th place, which is his best finish at that race. John has made huge gains on his run this off season, which should pay dividends at Ironman Santa Rosa next month in California.
Congrats to everyone competing this past weekend, and we are looking forward to more great performances as the season begins to heat up!
